Privacy Policy for Parkis
This Privacy Policy explains how Parkis (the “App”), provided by Zaid Bashir (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, processes, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the App.
We are committed to handling data responsibly, transparently, and only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and develop the App and its related services.

2. What Parkis Does
Parkis helps users interpret parking signs using image analysis and artificial intelligence. To provide this functionality, the App may process images that you capture, upload, or select.
Parkis may also provide map-based parking features, parking area visualization, parking location data, and parking availability or occupancy-related information where such functionality is available.
3. Information We Collect or Process
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect or process the following categories of information:
A. Images and User Content
When you capture, upload, or select an image for analysis, that image may be transmitted to our backend systems for processing and interpretation.
Such images may include parking signs, surrounding street or parking environments, vehicles, and any other visual content visible in the submitted image.
B. Technical and Device Information
We may process limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App and related services. This may include:
- device or app instance identifiers,
- operating system and app version,
- timestamps,
- basic log data,
- diagnostic information,
- crash-related information,
- metadata related to analysis requests and service usage,
- usage-related interaction data within the App.
C. Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase credits, subscriptions, or other paid features, transaction handling may be performed by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or other payment or service providers used to manage purchases and entitlements.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
D. Communications
If you contact us for support, feedback, or legal or privacy requests, we may process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
4. How We Use Information
We may use the information described above for the following purposes:
- to provide image analysis and interpretation results,
- to operate the App and its core features,
- to provide map-based parking features, parking area visualization, and parking availability or occupancy-related services,
- to manage credits, subscriptions, purchases, and entitlements,
- to detect, prevent, investigate, and address fraud, abuse, misuse, unauthorized activity, and security issues,
- to monitor reliability, performance, stability, and service quality,
- to debug errors and fix technical issues,
- to improve user experience and App functionality,
- to develop, test, validate, calibrate, train, and improve our AI models, systems, and related technologies,
- to conduct internal research, quality assurance, and product development,
- to comply with legal obligations,
- to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
5. Server Processing and AI
Parkis is not limited to fully local processing on the device. Images and related data may be sent to backend infrastructure where analysis is performed using artificial intelligence, machine learning models, and related technical systems.
This server-side processing is part of how the App delivers its core functionality and improves accuracy, quality, and reliability over time.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operation of the App, fraud prevention, security, diagnostics, product improvement, AI training and evaluation, internal research, legal compliance, and defense of legal rights.
Images
Submitted images and related analysis data may be retained temporarily or for a longer period where reasonably necessary, proportionate, and legally permissible for:
- processing and returning results,
- debugging and incident investigation,
- quality control and quality assurance,
- service improvement,
- AI model training, testing, validation, and refinement,
- internal research and product development.
We aim not to retain information longer than necessary, but retention periods may vary depending on technical, operational, research, legal, and security needs.
Where appropriate, data may be deleted, anonymized, aggregated, or otherwise de-identified.
7. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable under relevant law, we process information on one or more of the following legal bases:
- performance of a contract or provision of requested services,
- legitimate interests, including operating, securing, improving, developing, and protecting the App and related systems,
- compliance with legal obligations,
- consent, where consent is required by applicable law.
8. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal data.
We may share information with trusted service providers and partners only where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, improve, or support the App, such as:
- hosting and cloud infrastructure providers,
- backend processing providers,
- analytics, diagnostics, or crash-reporting providers, if enabled,
- subscription and purchase management providers, including RevenueCat,
- legal, regulatory, or governmental authorities where required by law,
- professional advisers or service providers assisting with security, compliance, support, or dispute resolution.
Any such sharing is limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
9. Advertising
Parkis does not currently use in-app advertising.
If advertising is introduced in a future version of the App, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly before or when such changes take effect.
10. Tracking
Parkis does not currently track users across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes.
If future features require tracking permission under applicable platform rules, such permission will be requested through the relevant platform mechanisms, such as Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework where applicable.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required by applicable law, we take reasonable steps to implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no method of transmission, processing, or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on applicable law and your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- request access to information about you,
- request correction of inaccurate information,
- request deletion of information,
- request restriction of processing,
- object to certain processing,
- request data portability where applicable,
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may also choose not to grant camera or photo permissions, although some App features may not function properly without them.

14. Children’s Privacy
Parkis is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law.
If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the matter.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update, revise, supplement, or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect, for example:
- changes in App features or technical systems,
- changes in data processing practices,
- development of AI systems, backend services, and parking-related features,
- legal or regulatory requirements,
- operational, research, security, or business needs.
The latest version will be made available through the official page or website associated with the App. Continued use of the App after an updated version is posted means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
Where required by law or where appropriate, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
